Rue Rachel is a street of east-west orientation in Montreal, Canada, found in the Plateau-Mont Royal and Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie districts. It connects boulevard Pie-IX and Parc Jeanne-Mance (Near Parc du Mont-Royal). Rue Rachel runs parallel to the avenue Mont-Royal and intersects boulevard Saint-Laurent, which is just a little north of rue Sherbrooke. History In October of 1834, the estate of the notary Jean-Marie Cadieux de Courville (1780-1827) was subdivided and plotted by the surveyor Charles Laurier, into streets which are named after members of the Cadieux family. This particular street is named for one of the daughters of the notary; Rachel(1814-1879).
